MINUTES OF THE ANNUAL OPEN MEETING OF THE BOARD

NORTH SHORE ALANO

June 9, 2001

9:15 a.m.

 Present: Nancy T, Sue T, (acting secretary) Bill S, John, Lonna, Tim S., president, Holly H., Hank K.

Absent: James L, Andy F, Jim H...

There was a change to the previous minutes: We are all set until 10/2003 with sufficient amount of envelopes to deposit the money. Otherwise the minutes for May were approved.

TREASURERS REPORT
Line of credit as of 5/31/01 is at $2650.00 which is down from where it was. Akron may make a little money and any profits will pay off the line of credit. The treasurer’s report was accepted.

SITE COMMITTEE
The measurements for the hallway, coffee room and bathroom will be taken and posted on the web site in case we want to move in the direction of putting linoleum down. We will have that information shortly.

PROGRAM-SOCIAL FUNDRAISIING COMMITTEE
Discussion about the 20th anniversary ensued. However it will be postponed at a future date until James L is present. A question arose, is this a fundraiser vs. fellowship? Outside speakers vs. Chicago speakers? A fellowship weekend? Are we facing burnout?

LITERATURE
Nothing to report

MAILING LIST
Andy F will pass on all information he has regarding the mailing list to Holly.

GSR
The Lisle conference - Nancy did not have GSR note. Discussion ensued about posting AA information in public areas such as L stations, perhaps on cable TV

HOUSEKEEPING
A checklist of duties for the steward was passed out for review.

4TH OF JULY
Lonna will be contacting Marty to help with that event.

NEW BUSINESS
The water cooler is broken - Discussion ensued about doing research to see if we could replace it. Sam's club has one for $200.00. Hinkley & Schmitt was also discussed. Can we possible request bottled water to be put into the pop machine? This discussion will be tabled until the next meeting.

Exterminator - we need a professional exterminator once a month. Holly will write him a note to request his presence on a particular day of the months. It was approved months ago but has not been carried out. We will look into why that has not happened.

We have received a call from the church regarding the stains on the carpet on the stairs. Is it the NSA's responsibility to clean the carpet?

NEXT MEETING
2nd Saturday in July 14, 2001 after the Locker Room Meeting......If nothing earth shattering occurs we may skip the August meeting b/c of lack of quorum.
